Perceptual Robotics and the University of Bristol announce results of Innovate UK data analysis project

Robots and artificial intelligence have proven to be almost 15% more accurate in detecting faults in wind turbines, Perceptual Robotics has revealed in a world-first set to transform the industry.

The Innovate UK Research and Development project, which has been ongoing in collaboration between Perceptual Robotics and the University of Bristol for an initial two years before being extended for a further one with DNV, involved the partners incorporating fully-automated surface defect detection into the data-processing pipeline for wind turbine inspections.

Perceptual Robotics signs contract with Enel Green Power

Perceptual Robotics has today announced it has signed a major contract with energy giant Enel to process future inspections blade data from across its whole fleet of wind turbines.

Enel Green Power chose to work with the Bristol-based company because of superior results with its pioneering Dhalion system, which analyses wind turbine inspections data and uniquely identifies future potential faults before they cripple the turbine.

Perceptual Robotics launches DOT, its pioneering drone software product

Perceptual Robotics is launching its most sophisticated product to date with the DOT autonomous drone, designed to undertake in-depth turbine inspections and quickly analyse the data collected. The company has had DOT in development since its inception and is overjoyed to officially bring it to market. The new drone system has been designed to collect high-quality data from turbines in less than 20 minutes, whilst offering low operational costs for customers and minimal training for operators. Another key element is DOT’s safety features as the system has been designed to avoid any potential collision with the turbine.
