Key takeaways from last week’s Global Wind O&M Event!
After a good weekend’s rest and some time for all the information to sink in, we are happy to share some exciting highlights and key takeaways from our participation in last week’s 4th Global Wind O&M Turbine Operations, Maintenance & Life-Cycle Management event in Barcelona, organised by TBM!

It was a great experience as not only were we able to showcase our system and approach regarding Blade Inspections and Blade Maintenance Strategy, but we also learned new things and exchanged views with many of the participants.
Key takeaways:
- Owners and Operators are concerned about the underperformance of their assets’ availability and have taken a very proactive approach into identifying the key issues.
- OEMs have started offering Data driven services to assets out of Full Scope Agreements, based on their vast experience.
- All sides – be it Owners, Operators, Original Equipment Manufacturers or Independent Service Providers, agree that the real struggle is to communicate upwards the value and savings of identifying and addressing problems as early as possible through the different methods, because although the benefit is evident, quantifying and forecasting it is sometimes challenging. This is common for all, from humidity solutions to rotor, SCADA data, yaw misalignment or blade inspections.
We also learned from Akuo that Robotics are here to stay in their different forms (drone, crawlers, repair ones…) and it was great to see the approach of ENECO to the O&M of their project on the beach, which shows how to deal with super challenging environments.
To summarise the event, one thing that unites us all wind energy enthusiasts; we want to improve asset performance so they can produce to their maximum capacity. The more we communicate, collaborate and exchange ideas and experiences in forums like this one, the faster the industry will progress.
Last but not least, special thanks to our Catalonian friends over at Persual Drone and Xavier Campins for letting us showcase their drone in our stand!
See you in the next event!
